General notes
Installing gentoo-linux went with some problems - LiveCD 2006.1 didn't start properly X-Window, but LiveCD 2006.0 work quite well. There were no problems during install, except not working Intel WiFi card - there were no drivers on LiveCD (ipw3945.o), but card is supported (see below).
Hardware problems
After installation main system works well, including newest X-windows (I still don't know why X from LiveCD 2006.1 didn't work). Problems to deal with:
- Intel WiFi card (ipw3945) works well after emerging ipw3945, but kill switch should be on ("no WiFi" position) when module is loading
- Intel HD soundcard work only on the newest drivers from alsa-drivers package (bug in kernel ALSA drivers, instruction how to install is on [1])
- Modem is not working (does anybody knows drivers for onboard modem on Intel i945?)
