Funambol

Introduction

Funambol offers calendar / contact / notes syncing between lots of different devices and programs. Funambol is most suited for syncing a large number of devices together, your syncing needs may be better served by OpenSync (HOWTO sync mobile phone with Gentoo).

It isn't in portage yet, but there is a request in gentoo bugzilla for an ebuild.

Installation

You'll need to install Tomcat unless you want to use the distributed version of Tomcat that comes with Funambol.

Download PIM & Email Bundle for Linux from http://funambol.com/opensource/downloads.php

wget http://download.forge.objectweb.org/sync4j/funambol-<version number>.bin
sh funambol-<version number>.bin

Accept the license and start the server when prompted. Follow the installation and setup instructions in the installation manual (it's fairly comprehensive and obvious).
