Note: To install the nVidia-provided graphics-driver-package (called "nvidia" in xorg/XF86.conf, not the generic "nv"),

do "emerge nvidia-drivers" or "emerge nvidia-legacy-drivers".

You have to recompile ("emerge nvidia-drivers" or "emerge nvidia-legacy-drivers") the kernel-module after every recompile of your kernel.
