emerge xmms xmms-cdread xmms-cdcover xmms-cdaudio
Open xmms, either through your os menu or by typing xmms in a terminal.
You will need to edit the preferences in AudioCD Reader and in CD Audio Player.
- Right click the xmms window and select options -> preferences.
- Then press click CD Audio Player (version) [libcdaudio.so]
- Under the tab Device -> Drive 1 type in your information.
- For me I typed in
- Device: /dev/hdc
- Directory: /mnt/dvd
- Play Mode: Analog
- Volume Control: No Mixer
- If you have two drives, select "Add drive" and add the corresponding information.
- For me I typed in
- Press O.K. and lets move on.
- Now click on AudioCD Reader (version) [libcdread.so]
- Click on the Options tab
- Under Default CD Device: type
- /dev/hdc
- or whatever your /dev/(cdromdrive) might be
- /dev/hdc
- If you have a CD in the drive, click add CD to playlist and you'll now be playing music.
