SystemRescueCD is a fairly small (121 MB) Gentoo-Based Live CD aimed at:
- harddisk maintenance
- data rescue
- partitioning
- file system maintenance
- password resetting
- offline virus scanning
- many more ...
It contains many tools that support the above operations.
The live cd has a similar look and feel to the Gentoo minimal install cd, the largest difference is that it uses zsh instead of bash.
There are x86 and ppc-based live cds
