TIP_Run_a_command_on_boot

This page will tell you how to have a command run on boot without going through the process of Creating an rc script

To have a command run at boot simply add the command to /etc/conf.d/local.start

To have a command run at shutdown simply add the command to /etc/conf.d/local.stop

Make sure the command returns control to the shell, else it will cause the boot process to hang. If needed use an & to background your command, e.g. /usr/bin/mycommand &

Note This is made for simple commands, if you need to run something complex I suggest Creating an rc script
