Audio
As all HD Audio ICH8 I recognize some problem to configure audio system. My resolution is disable all kernel audio configuration and use external ALSA Driver. Alsa has some problem on last release ( alsa-driver-1.0.15 ). I found and use a little trick to use the latest (and naturally unstable) version.
mkdir /usr/local/portage mkdir /usr/local/portage/media-sound mkdir /usr/local/portage/alsa-driver cd /usr/local/portage/alsa-driver cp /usr/portage/media-sound/alsa-driver/alsa-driver-1.0.15.ebuild ./alsa-driver-1.0.16_rc1.ebuild ebuild alsa-driver-1.0.16_rc1.ebuild digest emerge alsa-driver alsa-utils alsa-tools
Then you can setup sound card using
alsaconf
Networking
Bluethoot & IRDA
CD/DVD Problem
Depends on bios version you can recognize some problem with cd/dvd rom. On 6324W I fix that problem setting "AUTO" the cdrom device on BIOS istead CDROM. In some other case users also resolve this problem by disable the cdrom device on bios. It seems this problems appears under linux due to ACPI optimizattion problems, whose shutdown cdrom after boot.
